The workshop nomad+house, organized by ITACA Dept. Section of Arts, Design and New Technologies of University of Rome "La Sapienza" within Roma d+ calendar of events, aims at focusing the topic of contemporary nomad living related with urban provisional spaces in order to realize concept-protypes of portable refugee-objects for living mobility, while researching on the relationship between objects, body and physical space. The design laboratory, at its second edition, will investigate, as didactic topic, the realization of inflatable objects, structures and habitats and the students will work manipulating membranes, fans, air compressors, pumps. At the end, a nomad_parade of the inflatable prototypes will take place in the streets of Rome for the final party during the white night.

Partecipants attending nomad+object workshop will develop an experience directly in touch with internationally renowned experts providing inspiration and oversight of the works within their crosswise fields about design, theoretical speculating, materials and technological research and innovation. The entire teaching structure will be supervised by tutors and is arranged as a thematic design workshop with lect ures and reports, while displaying realized prototypes and design brainstorming at the end of each work session together with the tutors and the experts which will alternate.

The registration fee is euro 500 + VAT (euro 600 including VAT) and the students regularly enrolled as students at University will have a special price of euro 250 + VAT (euro 300 including VAT). The curriculum vitae will be assessed by the teaching staff and results posted on the net. The workshop will take place only if there are 20 participants. On request, students coming from abroad will have free accomodation at half pension.
